Glass House Mountains State School has a Special Education Program (SEP) to provide additional support to students with intellectual disability, speech-language impairment, austistic spectrum disorder, visual impairment, hearing impairment and physical impairment.
Students with disabilities are also eligible for support from Department of Education Speech Language Pathologists, Guidance Officers, Advisory Visiting Teachers, Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists.
Students are enrolled in an age-appropriate class and supported by inclusive programming. Their programs are implemented in a variety of environments - classroom, special education room, playground, community and at home.
An Indvidual Support Program (ISP) may be developed to focus support on specific needs. ISP goals are developed by the team of people who work with the student. Special Education teachers and teacher aides support students across the entire school site.
